2011 decided to end with appendicitis....... I was aware of vague tummy pain throughout the Christmas period, and by the day after boxing day I realised that it was not to be ignored and naturally had my own suspicions re what was going on. Went to the doctors, got sent to emergency, got poked and prodded and then finally told by a surgery registrar that I had a very nasty case of appendicitis and that the aforementioned nasty appendix would be removed first thing in the morning. So, here I am just over a week later, minus an appendix. The post-surgery pain has more or less gone, but the holes are not yet healed and I am still not allowed to do any 'heavy lifting' - which unfortunately includes my gorgeous 8kg baby girl Meh!

Anyway, the planned NY sale has been postponed while I recover. My fourth and final year of medicine is also looming, with final exams annoyingly close (June!), so it will be back to the study grindstone soon enough.

Heres hoping for a healthy 2012!!
